Mariposa Village will enhance the quality of life of persons with disabilities by providing an environment that accommodates their unique needs, provides opportunities for lifelong learning, empowers residents to become a contributing part of the community and offers a sense of belonging otherwise unattainable.
Mariposa Village will be a planned residential community with independent, semi-independent, and supervised housing options for adults with disabilities. An assortment of floor plans and community amenities will be offered to meet the needs of this diverse population, based on future resident input.
Community Center Vision
The Mariposa Community Center will be a multi-functional public place where people from the surrounding community and residents alike can join for an array of classes, social groups, and planned activities, or just enjoy the facilities with their friends.
Mariposa will offer instructional programs that will prepare participants for employment in a variety of fields. Vocational training will be based on the interest and strengths of the individual. A center for job-training will be designed and constructed, based on the vocational opportunities in the surrounding community. We will network and contract with local businesses for products and services, and the vocational placement of residents seeking on and off-site employment. This will create a relationship of mutual support between the neighborhood and the community at large.
